Jos or Joseph Mercredi is identified in J.B. Tyrrell's 1892 field notebook as a Mtis who had been stationed at the Hudson Bay Company post at Fond du Lac for 47 years. Outline map in pencil on 5 sheets of watermarked tissue paper; drawn by Mercredi with place names supplied by Mercredi in French. Evidently drawn by Mercredi on July 29 before J.B. Tyrrell left Fond du Lac on his trip back east through Black Lake to Wollaston Lake. Sheet 2 shows beginning of 'Yellow Knife R route to Barren Gds'. Forms part of the 'Geological Survey maps' sub-series.
