"Tyrrell himself commissioned the typed transcripts of his own field notebooks, probably at the time of his resignation from the Geological Survey."
"Notebooks include a record of each day's course, with distances, and other information relating to the topographical survey, as well as observations on the geology of the area. Also included in several of the notebooks are numbered lists of photographs taken on route. The majority of these photographs do not survive as the negatives were damaged and prints were never made."
Includes general title page and table of contents. Each part (1 to VII) also has separate title page and table of contents.
The notebook ends with 12 leaves in Tyrrell's hand recording latitudes and variations of the compass.
