Item is a photograph of an iceberg floating in Ashe Inlet. The photograph may have been taken by W.A. Ashe, observer at Asehe Inlet during the Hudson Bay Expedition of 1884.
Title taken from inscription on mount.
"Expedition member Robert Bell notes that 'some heavy field ice had drifted into Ashe's Inlet before our arrival there', and that the local Inuit informed them 'that this was the first time in their knowledge that such a thing had occurred'."
