Item is a letter written by Joseph Burr Tyrrell to his father, William Tyrrell, from the office of the Geological Natural History Survey in Ottawa. J.B. describes a chance meeting with A.R. Gordon, the leader of James' 1885 expedition to Hudson Bay, on the train to Ottawa. Gordon described the mens' experience with scurvy.
