Item is a leather-bound pocket diary for 1892, with preliminary printed matter and ruled blank pages with date headings intended to be completed in manuscript. Item contains notes in J.B. Tyrrell's hand regarding daily events, mainly concerning business and social engagements. Some pages are left blank, and large sections, including those covering most of the period of the 1892 expedition, have been excised and are missing.
"Memoranda' section at end includes a 2 p. list headed 'Camp outfit for the north', detailing clothing and other supplies to be taken on the 1892 expedition."
