Item is a newspaper clipping providing a detailed account of the 1893 expedition by J.B. and James Tyrrell to the barren lands, noting that they were accompanied by three well-known Mohawk canoeists from Kahnawake, Quebec, and by three Chipewyan guides. The expedition members recorded information concerning the flora, fauna, and mineral resources of the Hudson Bay region while completing an accurate survey.

The account and the map apparently are based on information supplied by James Tyrrell. In the last paragraph mention is made of a book in preparation.
